Quarantining
Introducing new animals can be a risky experience. We ensure that every specimen gets a clean bill of health and is clear of communicable diseases, parasites and is eating, behaving and interacting correctly before introduction.
Alerts
Automation systems are installed in LSS & Display Tank to give Alerts online for sending readings of water parameters like DO, Temperature, ORP, PH & Salinity. Turbidity and COD/BOD can also be incorporated for more clarity of water as per requirements. We have configured all the systems considering the ideal parameter requirements and alert messages to concerned maintenance staff for attending to any emergencies and get the system operate as per prescribed SOP’s at all times 24×7.
Testing
All the aquatic exhibits are being monitored considering their ideal water parameters according to Bio load of the system and Filtration Equipment. Testing procedures have been devised to give timely readings for any fluctuations like Ammonia, nitrite, phosphate spikes which are noted in Check lists on a routine basis. Test kits and Testing equipment of Internationally renowned brands with high accuracy are employed in our Quarantine to assess and act upon dealing with corrective measures.
Parameters
Every Exhibit pertaining to aquatic animals has a prescribed Chart format showing Ideal parameters as per their requirements. Maintenance staff are always alert on keeping an eye on any fluctuation noticed on display readings. Critical water parameters which can be detrimental to sudden fluctuations and result in mortalities are always tested and any minor fluctuation is corrected instantly with immediate action.
Backwash
Backwash procedures are prescribed in Check List issued to Maintenance staff considering the water volume, type of exhibit and turbidity ratio. All Sand, Carbon & Bio filters are subject to backwash as per their pre decided regimen and notings of the same are made. This results in giving a clarity in water and also no build up of toxicity in water which indirectly result in ammonia, nitrite or phosphate spikes. Amount of water to be backwashed and the time is mentioned in Daily Operational Chart and the Staff has to follow the same accordingly with noting done for the same.
Quarantining
All aquatic species which are to be sent into Display tank have to go through Quarantine procedure. We have a set SOP for the same which involves drip acclimatization, prophalyxis treatment, segregating infected and injured fish, creating ideal environment in tanks to releave fish of stress. Disinfectant in foot dip trays, utmost care of cross contamination, usage of gloves, using Red lights in dark room while acclimation process, using probiotics and medicated feed to boost immune system are some of the internationally laid down procedures followed by our team.
